Description:This is an all round accountancy role to support the VP Finance in all aspects of accounts. You will be responsible for performing accounting assignments involving the preparation of financial statements and reports.

Successful performance of the work requires good knowledge of accounting practices and procedures, and fiscal management. Responsibilities include direct contact with the VP Finance and other senior Managers regarding monthly reports, revenue and expenditure accounts.

Duties:1. Responsible for coordinating the closure of the books for Germany, Spain and France each month. Analyzing and converting data for upload to Great Plains (GP)

2. Accounting for Denmark, all statutory filings, closure of books

3. Upload all International results to the US GP system, analysis of results

4. US reporting requests, AP, AR, Cash

5. Reporting requests for audit

6. Bank payments control for Aus and NZ & bank signatory

7. To ensure all compliance areas are covered for International

8. Reporting requests (Europe) for VP finance - board packs, monthly budget v actual analysis

9. Calculation of vacation accrual for monthly recording of accrual

10. Translation of UK GAAP to IFRS reporting when required

11. Prepare timely cash forecasts

12. To assist in the streamlining of month-end processes to achieve shorter reporting deadlines

13. Reviewing and explaining variations in overheads month on month

14. To create new financial policies and procedures for internal use with VP Finance

15. To provide assistance to VP Finance on technical issues and projects


Information & Communication:

1. To liaise with all departments; to understand their functions and how they relate with those of the Finance Department

2. To update the VP Finance on a regular basis on the current status of departmental projects, solutions to problems arising and any changes to agreed deadlines

3. To undertake any further duties from time to time as may be reasonably required by the Company
Qualifications:Training & Development:

1. Actively undertaking a professional accounting qualification, preferably CIMA or ACCA – part qualified or finalist stage


Previous Experience & Qualifications:

1. Previous accountancy experience with a strong financial reporting background

2. A good level of experience working on automated accounts systems, experience of the accounts systems Great Plains and Peoplesoft would be an advantage

3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

4. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, schedule, organise, prioritise, complete work in accordance with manager’s deadlines and guidelines, and to check and verify the accuracy of work

5. Ability to communicate effectively with different personalities and build strong relationships with co-workers, management and customers

6. Ability to maintain a consistently positive, productive and professional attitude during stressful situations; exercise initiative and judgment in order to solve basic work problems
